Elizabeth V. Zanet advises clients on U.S. and international tax matters. She also represents taxpayers seeking to become compliant through the I.R.S. Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program, including the domestic and international Streamlined procedures, and state voluntary disclosure programs.
ELIZABETH V. ZANET advises clients on U.S. and international tax matters, including inbound and outbound tax planning and implementation for businesses and individuals. Her areas of expertise include creating tax-efficient structures and strategies for expanding foreign businesses in the U.S., acquiring or reorganizing a business, investing in U.S. real property, developing, exploiting, and transferring intellectual property, and operating a U.S. multinational business. She also advises individual clients on pre-immigration tax planning, cross-border estate planning, and expatriation.
Before joining Ruchelman P.L.L.C., Ms. Zanet advised multinational corporations and private equity funds on tax planning for mergers and acquisitions at a large international law firm and a large accounting firm.
She is a member of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the New York City Bar Association Committee on Taxation of Business Entities, and the New York City Bar Association Committee on Inter-American Affairs.
